Coaching Tips

Camberley Lawn Tennis Club Coaching

The professional coaching team under David Gill runs a full Junior programme (including tennis camps throughout the summer holidays), as well as an Adult coaching programme. Coaching is available on a group or individual basis at both Junior and Senior levels.

David Gill has been a full-time qualified LTA Professional Coach for 11 years (and counting…). He holds the LTA Part III Tennis Development Award (TDA), and is a member of the British Tennis Coaches’ Association (BTCA). The TDA is a Level 3 Coaching Qualification. The TDA began in 2000 and is designed to train coaches to develop managerial and leadership skills within clubs. The course also trains coaches to develop high quality coaching skills to work with all levels of club players. All TDA coaches must have obtained the DCA and CCA, hold a full LTA Coach Licence and a Criminal Records Bureau Enhanced Disclosure Certificate.

David is supported by two assistant coaches, Matt Marlow and Oliver Potts, as well as a number of Juniors who have completed the Tennis Leaders Award.

Adult Coaching

There are two groups of Adult coaching on Tuesday evenings throughout the year. The groups will be structured as follows:

1815-1915 – Team and stronger players

1915-2015 – Non-team, new members and not so confident players

The cost of these sessions is £8.00, and there are only 8 places available for each session. Contact David Gill or sign your name on the club noticeboard. Places are on a strictly first come first served basis. You will be charged for non-attendance or less than 24 hours notice of cancellation.

Junior Coaching

David runs group coaching sessions for juniors everyday after school and arranges competitions, ladders, social events as well as tennis camps in the summer holidays.
