A. β Coaching and Junior co-ordination is under the wing of our Head Coach David Gill. David is a qualified LTA Professional Coach. He holds the LTA Part III Tennis Development Award (TDA), and is a member of the British Tennis Coaches’ Association (BTCA).
Two assistant coaches help David with the busy Adult and Junior coaching programmes.
Q. β Can I play tennis all year round or does the club only operate in the summer months?
A. β Tennis at Camberley is an all year round activity. With all weather courts it takes some harsh weather to stop keen members from turning up for a club session or winter league fixture.
Q. β Do I have to play at the club mix in sessions or can I book my own court?
A. β Mix in sessions are a great way to meet new people, play against a range of standards and improve your tennis. But if you just want to arrange and play against another member or members, the courts can be booked privately, subject to availability.
Q. β What system does the club operate for booking courts outside of mix in sessions?
A. β We have recently introduced an online web based system for court booking. All new members are allocated an individual ID and PIN number that allows access to the booking system, either from a remote computer through the CLTC web site or via a Touch Screen located in the Club House.
Q. β Does the club have full time management/organisers?
A. β CLTC is 100% organised and administered by an annually elected committee of Volunteers. [See web site for details of current committee and roles] All members are expected to support the committee in maintaining and overseeing the club facilities and environs as well as exhibiting appropriate behaviour towards other members, potential members and the general public.
If you are interested in contributing to the organising committee attendance at the monthly meetings is welcomed.
